WPA offers the following consulting services to a limited number of clients:

• Program planning for new capital construction projects, such as foundation headquarters, conference centers, and civic or community spaces.  WPA acts as the client's representative to its constituents, architectural and design teams, and construction management.  WPA fills a niche role by researching and developing the client's organizational and programmatic needs for the facility and ensuring that these needs are translated into the optimal functional elements of the architecture and design.  This type of front-end planning results in a more efficient and responsive building design.  It usually also results in a cost-effective and timely completion of the facility.

Specific services include:

• planning and facilitating board, staff and external stakeholder interviews about the overall mission and objectives for the facility,
• researching and writing programmatic and business plans for the space,
• working with the architectural and design teams to refine building functions and space planning to meet the client's needs,
• ensuring that the client's requirements are met during the design development and construction phases of the project,
• planning the start-up staffing and operational needs for the facility, and
• planning the move-in and opening the building.

Executive coaching for new philanthropic leaders and donors. WPA coaches a limited number of individuals on a 1:1 basis who are making a transition into a leadership role in a philanthropic organization. We also work with individuals and family members who are entering the first stages of their giving.  The emphasis of our work is:

• helping the individual to understand best practices in philanthropy,

• exposing the client to varying methods and modes of giving,
• determining the client's leadership style and management values within the context of a philanthropic institution, and
• assisting the client in determining how to strategically plan for the future of their own or their organization's giving.
